This week seemed to go by in a blur. I’ve been busy with a couple of freelance jobs, coupled with a preoccupation for friends and family who’ve been having a rough time lately. Many of my friends are still trying to recover from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, while others are facing serious health issues.

Greg’s knee keeps giving him trouble, but he’s been coping with medication. I think I would’ve had the knee replacement surgery long ago if the only thing that kept me going were drugs. But you can’t tell another person how to live–even when they’re husbands.

Meanwhile my mom is in agony waiting for her knee surgery that was postponed when the hospital had a fire.

I’m having trouble sleeping again. Not a big deal compared to what everyone else is enduring, but it makes me snappish. To add insult to injury I’m having terrible dreams when I finally do get some sleep.

It’s gotten to the point that I dread nightfall because I know I won’t be able to sleep. Greg meanwhile can sleep anytime and anywhere. I’m jealous.

  1. Maria “If it ain’t bad luck I’d have no luck at all” seems to be a recurring theme in so many peoples lives these days and am tired to the bone of it but everyone keeps going no matter what because what choice do they have?

Sorry to hear about your mom and hubs, bad knees are nothing to sneeze at as being mobile without pain should not be taken for granted but so many of us do until it is taken away by age or injury.

Hopefully once life evens out again your sleep will come easier and not be plagued by bad dreams.

      Ain’t that the truth! 🙂

Sometimes I wonder if my inability to sleep is related to what’s going on around me. Whenever I start having nightmares in succession, something bad is going to happen to someone I care about.

Maria, for most of us worry about what is going on outside of our control is enough to cause many sleepless nights.

For those of us it does not, personally think they are not emotionally connected to much of anything anyway.

Nightmares for myself usually involve things that have already happened to those I care about or they revolve around things that are so far out of the realm of reality thanks to the dark books or movies that watch and read at times.

I sympathize with you on your sensitivity which causes sleepless nights, it can become a health hardship when you do not get enough rest as you well know from past experience.
