We decided to go ahead with a party for next Sunday. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a lot of company (at one time). It should be fun. At least my house will be super clean because of it. 🙂

We have new neighbors and part of my thinking was to have a chance to introduce them to our ‘old’ neighbors. We’re a small segment of a larger community. It’s good to be able to know the people on our streets. Because most of our homes are on acreage, we don’t get to see people too regularly unless they’re out and about.

When we do have parties (rare as they are) I generally don’t like to have more than a dozen people at a time. I think it’s hard to mingle when you have more than that–at least for me. As hostess I’d like to be able to meet and mingle with everyone.

Most of the time I’m stuck in the kitchen or taking care of some minor catastrophe. I warned Greg that if he saw me struggling or super busy I expect him to stop what he’s doing and help me out. He gets so involved with conversation he forgets that he has hosting duties too.

Do you ever host get-togethers? What’s the max amount of people you’d like in your house?

I’m sure your party will be a magnificent success. Hopefully, your honey bunches will turn his husband’s-sixth-sense up a few notches for the occasion to make sure you aren’t towing the party alone.

As for myself, I am not big on having parties. When I’ve done them, I prefer a handful of people and that’s good. Too many people multiplies into too many chances for problems.
