It’s a special week this week. First, my sister is coming to visit me. We haven’t seen each other in 17 years! That sounds so incredible to me. We talk and text regularly, but we haven’t clapped eyes on each other for a long time.
It’s also Labor Day. Generally we make a big spread and invite friends, but I need to see what my sister would like to do first. I don’t want to overwhelm her her first time here.
On the debit side of life, I got stung by a spider. Generally, the pain and swelling go away within two days, but this one didn’t. Since a holiday week was coming, I didn’t want to take the chance in case it was one of those bad spiders. (I’d been bitten by a brown recluse once. Once was enough! That was a bad one.)
The doc fixed me up with antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds, so the hand looks much better today.
