Menu for the week of April 16, 2017

Breakfast: Pancakes
Lunch: skipping lunch, early dinner
Dinner: Salmon, asparagus from the garden

Breakfast: Steak quesadillas
Lunch: Lunch out: Lots of grocery shopping today
Dinner: Pork fajitas

Breakfast: Leftover pancakes
Lunch: Leftover fajitas
Dinner: Sausage and peppers

Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: Leftover sausage and peppers
Dinner: Fried rabbit

Breakfast: Toast and juice
Lunch: Tuna fish sandwiches
Dinner: Taco salad

Breakfast: Breakfast kolaches
Lunch: Grilled cheese sandwiches
Dinner: Eggrolls and shrimp fried rice

Breakfast: Out hunting garage sales
Lunch: Burgers
Dinner: Mexican lasagna

I wasn’t the couch potato I hoped for last week. The rain was hit or miss, so I kept working in the yard whenever it was dry. We did finish bricking the garden patio, but it still needs mortar to fill in the gaps. That’s next week’s project, then I can call it done.

I started the front yard garden, ruthlessly pulling out any plant that wasn’t doing a good job. It looks empty now. I have more bulbs than I’d like. I think I’m going to pull them and put them in pots. I need to figure out what perennials I can plant to give me color throughout the year.

I am rubbish with flowers. I know only the old standbys, roses, lantana, and salvias, but I’d like to expand a little and try different things.The sun can be brutal in the summer, so it’s got to tolerate heat.

  1. Other than the fried rabbit, I did like your menu for the week 🙂 Growing no flowers here but we did have a nice Easter Day. Hubby and me decided to just spend it together. Tried to work out plans with son on what they were doing, but never got a clear answer so we made our own menu (ham, mashed potatoes, asparagus). Got a text this morning from son inviting us over for dinner, but opted to go with our original plans and it all turned out delicious!
