It’s Labor Day in the US. I’ve always found Labor Day to be a curious holiday. Not that I mind a day off, or time and a half if I were working, but it’s a little like stating the obvious. We all labor, well, most of us. And others labor more than others.
I probably work harder than I should. I can’t help it. It’s in my nature. So celebrating my labors sounds a little too self-serving.
On a side note it is mildly ironic that I labor harder now as a retired person than when I was working 9-5. Here’s a short history of why Labor Day is a holiday.
I have family visiting this week, so I’m taking the rest of the week off from blogging. That’s my treat for all my labors. 🙂
US friends, how are you celebrating?
